The Victorian Government has announced a new policy which mandates increased representation for women in the construction. The Building Equality Policy (BEP), that comes into effect from 1 January 2022, is an Australian first and aims to disrupt gender stereotypes in the country’s most male-dominated industry.
For over 10 years now, PCI has strongly supported and advocated for improving diversity and inclusion in the construction industry as a means of building and ensuring industry capabilities and overcoming skills shortage for the longer term. We have had the privilege of developing and facilitating many leadership development programs aimed at improving diversity and female representation at senior management levels and are encouraged by the take up of these programs by some of Australia’s largest construction organisations.
